More Floral Boxes

More Floral Boxes

I was very humbled by the response to my Floral Boxes and Kits a few weeks back – after months of work designing, making and preparing they sold out within hours. I know that some of you were disappointed to miss out, so I’m happy to say that I’ll be releasing another, bigger drop later […]

Floral Boxes and Kits

Floral Boxes and Kits

Our family Christmas present to ourselves this year was a 3D printer, and whilst the original intention was that it would mainly be used by the boys, I got quite into it quite quickly and for once actually learnt to use it properly. Working in IT I tend to avoid learning about technology outside work, […]

Even more fungi

Even more fungi

Last time I posted I mentioned that I was making some Sulphur Tuft mushrooms, and that I was putting bends into the stalks so they could be mounted vertically, as if they were growing from the surface of some cut, rotting wood. Well here they are, complete with a mossy/woody background. The fungi themselves use […]

More fungi……

More fungi……

I made some more variations on my Fungi beadweaving tutorial, so though I ought to share! This trio are based on the Ink Cap mushroom, and there are charts and instructions for using the tutorial methods to make these on p47. They’re mounted on a lovely wet felted pebble. This little one is actually not […]

Beadwork Embroidery Inspiration Uncategorized
Really pleased with my new ‘Meadow’ colourway - it’s more vivid than the delicate pastels of ‘Posy’ but not as saturated as say ‘Gloriosa’. The filament is stunning, and has behaved very well with the 3d printer which is important to me in terms of preventing waste as well as stress. It also includes both of my current favourite beads - lime opal teacups and acid yellow Os - many thanks to Ann at @tanzeedesigns for hunting down those, particularly the latter which has been very hard to find. I now have enough for a few years….. plus some new sequins from India, including the printed ones an incredible citrus glittery shimmery finish to tie everything together. These are almost sold out now as kits, what is left is in my Etsy shop (link in bio/comments) but I’ll try to put some more together and hope to have boxes for you to design your own tops ready again in a week or so. #beadingsupplies #beadwork #beading #beadingkits #beadedboxes And we're off (again) - another big batch of Floral Box kits and Boxes are now live in my Etsy shop (link in bio/comments). One new colour in this batch - Meadow, which is a multicoloured floral in mid colours (so more intense than the pastels but not as intense as the brights). I've also found a new silk filament for the Posy in the same colour as the previous matte, but even prettier (and less tricky to print). More about both of those later - must take and share more pics and videos of them before they go........ It's been lovely to see some pictures of your Floral Boxes over the last few days, so exciting. I've been making a new colourway too, so if you'd like to try a box or even a kit yourself, you'll be happy to know that I'll have some stock available in this and other colourways within the next few days. I just have a few tasks to complete like winding thread and cutting felt tops, and I'm waiting for more packing boxes to be delivered., so I'll let you know the release time here once that's all done. However I would say please don't panic or rush - I've listened to you carefully and once this batch is out I'll switch from big drops to trying to maintain steady stock, and will when I can, plug gaps on a request basis. That means if what you actually want is gone when you want to shop you'll be able to ask me for specific colourways and sizes rather than just choosing what's left - so no more FOMO, just hopefully a short wait to get exactly what you want. Apologies for the silence over here - as I’m sure you’ll have guessed I took some time away over the summer holidays to focus on family, but school is back (Y8 and Y12), so normal bead obsessed content will resume soon. Boxes are back in production, beads for kits are in order, and some beading is even happening (particularly now it’s not too hot to bead). I do have some admin to clear, plus the day job is busy, but once that’s under control you’ll see more of me. #beadwork #microbusiness #smallbusinesssummer I made extra Floral Box kits this time, and there are still a couple left, including some sizes of Sakura. This takes a pink and gold silk finish box, then Sarahs it up with acid green O beads, lime green teacups, some beautiful shell pink flat flower sequins, coral sequins and some lovely orange and yellow flowers with a gold sheen. Available now in my Etsy shop (link in bio/comments). #beading #beadwork #beads #beadingkit #sakura Now back in stock in my Etsy shop, 8 colourways of my Floral Boxes and Bead Embroidery kits. I’m so proud of these, and so happy that I can share them with my beading friends. Link in bio/comments #beadedboxes #beadembroidery #beadingkits #beads #beadwork The third new colour for the Floral boxes is not entirely new - this colourway was available as a box in the first drop, and I’ve now had time to develop and prepare a kit to make the most of the stunning colours. The box base (which again will be available solo) is a brick red with bright blue and yellow, and the beads and sequins are in reds, olive and sage greens, with a touch of old gold. Available tomorrow July 16th from 10am as boxes with felt or full kits (box, felt, beads, sequins, needle, thread, instructions and bead embroidery stitch guide). As usual stock is very limited, so if you wanted one but miss out please do contact me or comment and I’ll try to make more! #beadwork #bead #beading #beadembroidery #beadingkits Viola is the 2nd new Floral Box colour which will launch as kits and boxes tomorrow 16th July, 10am in my Etsy shop (links in comments/bio). A four colour filament box base - zest, blue, purple and red in a silk finish, with beads and sequins in blues and purples with a hint of zest. #beads #beadwork #beading #beadembroidery #beadbox Introducing the ‘Dahlia’ Floral box - available as a full kit or as the box (plus felt insert) in limited quantities from tomorrow July 16th 10am (BST). This fiery, intense colourway is not for the faint hearted, but I really really love it - the box itself is ombré mustard, red and magenta, and the beads and sequins magenta, fuchsia, coral and orange. Definitely a statement! #beadwork #beading #beads #beadingkits #beadembroidery
